This search came out of University Taxes at Dallas, It may be possible to channel one of Clark Kent’s famed superpowers by using our mobile phones to see through the walls.
The Texas at Dallas University’s team led by lecturer of electric engineering Dr. Kenneth O, has taped into two major scientific advances that could lead to new technology. One is unused range in electromagnetic spectrum and second one is consumer grade microchip.
The electromagnetic spectrum has features of wavelength energy and to measure all range of light. The search of Dr. O uses terahertz band which has previously been inaccessible for most consumer devices. Band has been placed between microwave and infrared rays that help to allow devices to penetrate through objects just like X-rays.
When signals access on terahertz from your mobile phone then they will turn back. And that is the time when microchip comes in. With the help of CMOS (complementary Metal-oxide Semiconductor) technology chips are manufactured which is bases on most of the electromagnetic devices around you. A censor attached into chip collects terahertz signals and image can be formed.
When terahertz-band signals can produce images with fewer lenses then it will be much significant. Using CMOS sensor it becomes much cost effective.
CMOS has nominal cost and because of this you can make lot of chips. Dr. O said “By combining CMOS and terahertz generate the means that you could put this chip and receiver on back of a mobile phone turning it into device carried in your pocket and object can be seen.
Nowadays technology goes beyond seeing through wall or many other kinds of objects. In medicine e.g. there is a capability for it to be used in place of X-Rays. And all the researches are fully aware relating to privacy.
