During the the battle of silicon valley and Hollywood,
the Google filed in the federal court of Florida for the purpose of defending Hotfile,an Internet locker service.
the MPAA had sued against hotfile one year before,and according to them cyberlocker are making business out of offering to peoples to save secret movies in the secret box. At that time MPAA argued that “Hotfile has maintained his position in most famous 100 trafficked sites in the world,and as a result it leads to digital theft that hoteline is really helpful in promoting”.
First time Hollywood group film studio sued against the cyberlockers of copyright. interestingly, MPAA has aked for a judgment summary against Hotfile just two week ago that trying ceasing to operate.
The google argued that DMCA protects the Hotfile .Google also argued that many wikypedia and facebook, youtube are making progress due to the protection of Digital Millennium Copyright (DMCA).
According to them,
the robust and revolutionary platform are really helped by safe harbors in order to expression and creativity. A large number of services (online) like, YouTube, facebook, eBay and Amazon etc all are being protected by DMCA.
Google was not available for commenting and they are protecting the DMCA with a good reasons.
